- Premium sponsor and jury member Züblin offering special prize
IT-supported applications, e.g. in the design, monitoring or documentation of projects, are becoming increasingly important in construction. Ed. Züblin AG, the number one in Germany’s building construction and civil engineering segment, therefore sees the search for creative IT ideas and concepts that can make this kind of work easier, more sustainable or more efficient as a central task for any company that wishes to have an edge on the competition. It is for this reason that Züblin sponsors contests such as “Auf IT gebaut – Bauberufe mit Zukunft” (“Built on IT – Careers with a Future in Construction”). The competition invites apprentices and trainees, students, graduates and professionals to submit their proposals for the integration of practical IT applications in everyday construction work and so actively contribute to shaping the future of the construction industry.
Züblin holds a seat on the expert jury and has been a premium sponsor of the event since 2012. The jury awards the best works in four categories: architecture, construction management, civil engineering and the commercial-technical field. The Stuttgart-based company will present its own special prize this year for projects with particularly practical applications: a trip for two to Hamburg including two nights’ accommodation, a visit to a musical, and a guided tour of Züblin’s Dancing Towers office building.
The competition, being held for the 14th time in 2014/2015, is being organised by RKW Kompetenzzentrum, Eschborn, with support from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, various construction industry associations, and big-name sponsors such as Züblin. Participants can register online until 3 November 2014 and have until 17 November 2014 to submit their work. The awards for the best works will be presented during the BAU trade fair in Munich in January 2015. More information about the competition is available at www.aufitgebaut.de.
