Ed. Züblin AG has started the new year with full order books in Mainz, the capital city of the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. In the past few months, ZÜBLIN has acquired new contracts in the city for the turnkey construction of residential and office buildings worth more than € 100 million. With the turn of the year, the P + B corporate group commissioned ZÜBLIN to build a large students’ residence hall with 750 units and approximately 1,000 beds near Mainz Central Station. Completion of the project, which is being carried out in two phases, is scheduled from September 2017. ZÜBLIN and P + B have had a positive working relationship for years. The latest project is their first joint project in Mainz. Further contracts acquired by ZÜBLIN in Mainz include a residential complex in the city’s Weisenau district as well as Rheinpromenade Dock 1, a residential and commercial complex being built on the site of the Mainz Customs Port. Both projects have been under construction since November 2015. Züblin has also been working on the construction of more than 100 residential units at Lerchenberg since October 2015. “We are pleased to have won these challenging projects in Mainz. They help us get off to a perfect start in 2016,” says Andreas Horle, head of ZÜBLIN´s Rhineland-Palatinate business unit.
