- 2017 contest aimed at singing ensembles: from choirs to acapella groups
- Last date for entries is 31 March 2017
- Public concert featuring the winners on 22 July 2017
For over 20 years, Ed. Züblin AG has organised the “Sommer im ZÜBLIN-Haus” at its headquarters in Stuttgart-Möhringen. With this annual cultural series, the construction company offers a stage for talented young performers from Baden-Württemberg from a variety of genres.
Due to renovation works on the ZÜBLIN-Haus, the cultural series had to take a two-year break. Now the Stuttgart-based company is expanding its cultural commitment with the presentation of the new ZÜBLIN-Kulturpreis to ambitious ensembles from Baden-Württemberg. “The cultural sponsorship of talented young people has always been very important for us. With the new cultural prize, we want to lend our commitment even more expression. We look forward to many fantastic entries,” says ZÜBLIN board member Klaus Pöllath.
The ZÜBLIN-Kulturpreis will be presented in various categories to talented young musicians in a different genre every year. In the first year, entries are being accepted from all forms of singing ensembles ranging from choirs to acapella groups. The contest is open to all styles: from classic to jazz, world music or pop, everything is possible. Partners are Schwäbische Chorverband e.V. and Badische Chorverband 1862 e.V. The prize patron will be Gerlinde Kretschmann, wife of the minister-president of Baden-Württemberg, herself an enthusiastic choir singer for many years.
Decisive criteria in the selection of candidates are quality, unique characteristics of the ensemble and the programme offer. Before the final prize award, a seven-member jury consisting of ZÜBLIN representatives and creative artists will select three ensembles to be invited to the public concert of the winners on 22 July 2017 in the ZÜBLIN-Haus. What will count then is a convincing and entertaining live performance. The ranking will be determined by an audience vote. The three winning ensembles will share total prize money of € 9,000.
Entries will be accepted until 31 March 2017. Entry documents can be requested by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
