- New campus with educational, after-school care and recreational offers for children and young people
- Several new buildings erected by ZÜBLIN Timber using timber construction
On 24 November, about one year after the successful start, a festive reception was held to officially open the primary school “Grundschule Baierbrunner Straße” at the former Siemens site in Munich-Obersendling as part of a new campus with educational, after-school care and recreational offers for children and young people.
Design and construction of the school, which was already able to open for the 2016/2017 school year, took just three-and-a-half years. The project comprised modern classrooms for the approximately 270 students, a cafeteria, a dual sports hall and facilities for after-school care.
All new campus buildings were erected using ecological timber construction. This was an important prerequisite to make possible the short construction schedule. The complex project, including the design, was completed turnkey by ZÜBLIN Timber together with the colleagues from Ed. Züblin AG.
At the official opening ceremony, all speakers praised the architecture as well as the pleasant atmosphere and the on-time completion. It is an achievement to be proud of – especially considering that this contract was a pilot project for the city of Munich in terms of timber construction and general contract award.
